5 tips for families with young children who are repainting at home

    Sponsored by Byggmax

Painting at home as a parent of young children is about creating a home that works in everyday life. Surfaces that last, colors that feel safe and choices that are easy to make. Here's an easy guide to choosing the right interior paint for every room in your family's home, focusing on what makes painting smooth, durable and affordable. With the Midun, Byggmax's own paint makes it easy (and cheap) to succeed at home.

    1. application - the color should work with you

When painting with young children at home, there are often breaks. That's why it's good to have a paint that's easy to work with. Midun is easy to roll, doesn't run and stays smooth. It dries fairly quickly, so you can continue when you have time. It makes painting simpler and easier to finish.

    2. Wall paint and carpentry paint - made for different surfaces

In a home with children, everyday life is visible on the walls. Midun's wall paint is designed for large surfaces where life goes on, while the carpentry paint is adapted for moldings, doors, shelves and furniture where wear and tear looks different. The right color in the right place - without the hassle.

    3. Choice of color - easy to customize for you

Color selection doesn't have to be difficult. Midun's color can be refracted in any color you want, to suit both the light and the feel of your home. Choose what feels right right now - light, calm or more colorful. And if your taste changes later, it's easy to repaint.

    4. Indoor color and content - good to know

Midun's indoor paints are Nordic Swan Ecolabeled and waterborne, making them safe to use in homes with children. When painting, it's also a good idea to check the VOC level - how much volatile matter the paint emits. Lower levels are always better, especially in rooms where the family spends a lot of time. Midun paints are tested for home use, making it easy to choose the right one.

    5. the right amount and coverage - no guesswork

A common question before painting is how much paint is needed. For Midun's wall paint, you can measure the total surface of the walls, count on two coats and assume that the paint covers about 7-9 m² per liter. For example, if you have around 30 m² of wall surface and paint two rounds, you end up with about 7-8 liters of paint, which makes 10 liters a safe choice. It makes planning easier and reduces the risk of having to stop in the middle.

You don't need to be an expert to succeed. With paint made for home painting, all you have to do is start - the rest will take care of itself!
