The big dental guide from Jordan

Brushing the teeth of young children is not always easy. New teeth that hurt, small mouths that close in protest, and routines to fit into an already busy schedule can make brushing a challenge. At the same time, we know how important it is - especially as new teeth are extra sensitive and more susceptible to decay.
That's why Jordan shares tips and tricks to make brushing easier for young and old alike.
When should you start brushing your teeth?
You should start brushing your baby's teeth as soon as the first tooth appears. This usually happens around six months of age, but can vary greatly from child to child.
Early brushing provides better protection against tooth decay and helps children get used to the routine right from the start.
For the very young (0-2 years)
When the first teeth come in, the gums can be sore and irritated. At this age, tooth brushing should always be done under adult supervision. One tip is to let your child lie on the changing table while brushing. If your child's mouth is closed, you can gently run a finger along the inside of the cheek to open the mouth.
Jordan's tips!
- A small, soft brush head makes brushing gentle on sensitive gums.
- A short neck helps to brush safely in a small mouth.
- An easy-to-grip handle can also serve as a bite ring.

When milk teeth should be properly cleaned (3-5 years)
At this age, the challenge is often about motivation - not understanding. Make toothbrushing more fun by turning on The Happy Teeth song while you are brushing. The song is two minutes long, which is exactly the time recommended for brushing.
You can find the song here: Children's Universe | Jordan Oral Care
Jordan's tips!
- A rounded brush head makes it easier to reach around all milk teeth.
- Extra soft bristles clean gently and carefully.
- A toothbrush that feels safe and comfortable in the child's hand makes the routine easier.

When both milk and permanent teeth are present (6-9 years)
By now, children often have their first visit to the dentist behind them and understand why their teeth need to be brushed. At the same time, the mouth becomes more complex, with both milk teeth and permanent teeth at different levels.
Jordan's tips!
- Soft, round bristles follow the different levels of teeth for effective cleaning.
- A Magic-Tip reaches molars and hard-to-reach surfaces.
- A toothpaste indicator helps with the right amount of toothpaste.

5 tips to make toothbrushing easier
- Start early
The earlier brushing becomes a natural part of everyday life, the less resistance later. - Brushing together
Children do what adults do. Feel free to brush their teeth at the same time to create a sense of security and routine. - Use the right toothbrush for your age
An age-appropriate toothbrush makes brushing easier, gentler and more effective. - Keep it playful
Songs, chants or a timer can make a big difference when the willpower is lacking. - Be consistent - but calm
It does not have to be perfect every time. Regularity is more important than perfection.
