Pregnant Week 42 | Soon to meet your baby
Baby: Fully developed!
Now that you are 42 weeks pregnant, the fetus is fully developed! The fact that you have not yet gone into labor does not mean that you are carrying a pregnancy to term, as a pregnancy is only considered to be carried to term from 42+0 weeks. If you have not given birth before week 42+0, you will be induced at that time at the latest.
Here are 7 sure signs that you are in labour!
Mom: Pregnant in week 42
Now that your due date has passed, it can be frustrating that labor has not yet started. Being pregnant for a long time allows your body to mature, your cervix to soften and the hormone relaxin to further soften your pelvic joints. All these preparations are benefits that may make your labor easier.
From week 40, you will see your midwife every week for the usual check-ups and to be informed about a possible induction.
