Wienernougat recipe by Camilla Hamid
Simple family-friendly recipes that you can bake with your children are something we love, and one of these is Camilla Hamid's recipe for Viennese nougat. With just four ingredients and minimal time, you'll have a recipe that's just as delicious for young and old alike. And best of all: a cozy and lovely time together.
It's great to bake with your little ones - but it can also be a project to remember. It will be a little messier, take a little longer and most likely won't turn out the way you imagined - but oh how cozy it is! Let the baking take time and don't focus on the visuals when the kids are baking. The more fun you have together the better, and you can't demand an aesthetically pleasing Viennese nougat, can you? But it's just as good for that!

Ingredients:
125 g almond flakes
250 g nougat
200 g milk chocolate
100 g dark chocolate
Do this:
1. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees, with both top and bottom heat. Cover a baking sheet with baking paper and spread the almond slivers evenly on it. Roast in the oven for 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
2. Take out a heatproof bowl and pour in the nougat, milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Roughly chop the chocolate beforehand if you are not using buttons. Melt this together over a water bath.
3. Remove the bowl from the heat and pour in the almond flakes, stirring until all the almond flakes are covered in chocolate.
4. Place a baking sheet on a baking tray and spread the pastry dough in the mold.
5. Place in the fridge to set for at least 1 hour. Then cut into pieces and serve immediately or store in an airtight jar in the fridge.
The recipe yields about 30 pieces of Viennese nougat.
